Artist Kate MccGwire creates molted bird feathers sculptures...
"I gather, collate, re-use, layer, peel, burn, reveal, locate, question, duplicate, play and photograph"Kate MccGwire's practice probes the beauty inherent in duality, exploring the play of opposites - at an aesthetic, intellectual and visceral level - that characterises the way we conceive the world. She does this by appealing to our essential duality as human beings, to our senses and our reason, and by drawing on materials capable of embodying a dichotomous way of seeing, feeling and thinking. Second, I’ve got some ink on my hip, the kind you keep forever, says “this is all that I am.”I was reminded of both the big black letters and my frozen friend this evening when my coach said “Steph, do you wanna be able to do this?” I laughed. “Then decide you can fucking do it. No, decide you’ve done it. Go.” I stopped laughing. He was serious as a mountain lion and I’m certain he believes with his whole body that you are what you decide to be. I’ve had similar conversations with several friends, shit, I got a piece of that idea tattooed to MY....Get all the details on this Pssst Posters site...

The photo blog at PssstOverHere.com is an interesting read from one photographer's perspective. Great site to peruse, although the opening image might cause some to wonder if they want to proceed. Overall it's a pretty safe site.Visit Pssst Post: Pssst.... Over Here!
